ALL COURSES WILL BE HELD IN-PERSON AND FOLLOW A FULL WORK-DAY FORMAT FROM 9AM-5PM AT THE FARM CENTRE IN CHARLOTTETOWN PEI
WHAT IT IS
- a critical steppingstone of foundational knowledge in wine tasting and theory best suited for keen participants interested in learning more and building a stronger wine vocabulary and tasting skillset
WHY IT MATTERS
- because you are a wine enthusiast looking to fine-tune your tasting skills and elevate your wine vocabulary
- because you work in hospitality and a better understanding of wine will give you more confidence on the floor and generate increased sales
- because you work in the drinks trade and are looking for upward mobility within the industry by acquiring WSET qualifications and globally recognized certifications
WHAT YOU NEED
- there are no prerequisites and glassware will be provided for wine samples (option to buy set of 6 standard ISO tasting glasses $59)
- it is recommended that you start with WSET Level 1 Award in Wines to build your foundation of knowledge from the very first principles of how key factors influence the style, quality, and price of wine.
HOW WE DO IT
- 3 full in-class days presented 1 day per week over the span of 3 weeks
- guided tastings of over 40 benchmark wines featuring principle grape varieties, classic wine regions, and regional specialties
- 15 hours of additional private study time is recommended
- registration closes 2 weeks before first scheduled in-person session
- payment must be made IN FULL at the time of registration
- candidates will be given an option to receive an access code for eBook study pack within 3 working days of registration
- hard copy study packs will be available for in-person pick up within 3 working days of registration
- hard copy study packs will be mailed to out-of-province candidates within 3 working days of registration
WHAT YOU GET
- a globally recognized 'Level 2 Award in Wines' formal qualification
- a professional certificate mailed to you and a WSET lapel pin
HOW YOU GET IT
- by achieving a minimum pass mark of 55% on a closed book 50 question multiple choice exam at the end of the 3rd day of in-class sessions
WHAT IF YOU DON’T GET IT
- Lesson #1: failure is a learning opportunity

- $1195 includes tuition, all wine samples, exam fees and a study pack
- payment must be made through online registration only
- payment must be made IN FULL at the time of registration
- registration closes 2 weeks before first scheduled in-person session
- Wayfaring Wine & Spirit Co. will accept only Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
- all payments are non-refundable
- in the unlikely event that Wayfaring Wine & Spirit Co. has to cancel a course, registered candidates are eligible for 100% refund
